How do I keep a deer from using my garden for a sleeping place?

This huge deer uses my yard for sleeping every night. He is big and scary and he drops ticks and is working his way though all my veggies. Last night I scared him off by shining a light on him. Do you think he will come back to sleep now that I have scared him off?

The Green Gardenista has a creative solution that involves sprinkling Dried Milk on your garden. Apparently deer seriously dislike the taste of milk after being weened, so they avoid it. Plus the dried milk is harmless to plants! You might consider giving that a try. There are lots of other cheap recipes out there also.
Do not have deer feeder. If you have a feeder they feel welcome. If they are hurting plants spray the plants with repellent. Plant some herbs that they don’t like in the area.
My favorite is to pop them in the rump with a pellet gun. A friend claims a radio keeps them away but that would keep me up as well. If a deer gets hungry enough he will eat any thing every where no matter what you do that isn’t lethal or expensive, like an eight foot fence.. Get a dog.
